Dr. Jodi LoGerfo, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, DCNP - Orentreich Medical Group


Dr. Jodi LoGerfo is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Family Nurse Practitioner certified in Family Medicine and Dermatology. She studied Pharmacy at St. John’s University and Nursing at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY, graduating magna cum laude with both her Baccalaureate and Master of Science degrees in Nursing. Dr. LoGerfo received her Nurse Practitioner Certification in Family Medicine in 2002 and Dermatology in 2015. She graduated summa cum laude with her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Molloy College in May of 2020.

Dr. LoGerfo has been at the Orentreich Medical Group, LLP since 1997 and became a NursePractitioner practicing alongside her mentors, Drs. Norman, Catherine and David Orentreich in 2002. She has over two decades of experience in treating a vast array of skin disorders, using the full modern arsenals of lasers and light devices, platelet rich plasma treatment, cosmetic injectables and skin care products. She is considered a master injector in her field.

Long recognized for her expertise in skin and hair care, as well as for her warm, down-to-earth approach to patient care, Dr. LoGerfo hosted her own live radio talk show “Health Talk” from 2004 to 2012; her podcasts are currently available on iTunes. She now shares her wealth of information and experience with the community through her blog http://orentreich.com/blog/.Combining her pharmaceutical training with her clinical experience, Dr. LoGerfo conducts research and develops and tests dermatologic products as an Associate of the Orentreich Foundation for the Advancement of Science and the Orentreich Research Corporation.

She has devised protocols for the testing and monitoring of skin and hair preparations. Dr. LoGerfo has been involved in the development of over 55 innovative treatments for skin disease. In addition to her research at the Orentreich Medical Group, she currently serves as a clinical consultant for the Estee Lauder Companies, Clinique and Aveda. As part of the team of Clinique’s guiding dermatologists, Dr. LoGerfo has supervised the rigorous allergy testing protocol for Clinique Laboratories using Repeat Insult Patch Testing performed by the Orentreich Research Corporation.Dr. LoGerfo is considered an authority on hair loss. Her years of research and clinical work on patients with various types of alopecia enable her to diagnose the various patterns of hair loss,identify the causes and offer the latest treatment options, always keeping in mind the importance of individualized care and emotional support. In addition to caring for alopecia patients within her practice, she also runs a support group, along with a clinical psychologist,for females with alopecia. Dr. LoGerfo has recently finished performing a clinical study on the impact of alopecia on female patients and the influence of support groups on their quality of life; and has written extensively on issues in medical and cosmetic dermatology. In 2020 Dr.LoGerfo became the hair expert for Aveda, sharing her wealth of knowledge and research on hair loss with the world.

As a result of her work in skin allergy, Dr. LoGerfo thought that her patients needed a more wholesome approach to one of the basics of skin care-cleansing; so, in 2014, with the support of her colleagues, she started a skin care company. Soap 101 www.soap101.net is a “back to basics” skin cleansing approach using natural oils and wholesome ingredients, which are handmade without synthetics. Her products are beautiful and handcrafted, and pure and good for your skin. The process has been a rewarding experience, a labor of love, allowing for her creativity while helping people have the best skin possible.Dr. LoGerfo is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State, the Dermatology Nurses’ Association and the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners. She resides in Neponsit, New York with her fiancée, Peter Curcio and daughter Annabelle.
